Cute twist on the old saying, and a nice way of challenging the validity of the saying. That second sentence in the third paragraph was a bit hard to follow. Typo maybe?

Add a comma between “through” and “the” and it’ll make better sense (if you can fit a comma in).

A lovely little story, with a nicely grouchy monster hero. Can we have Ch’caaa in some other stories too please? I can see a whole monster-eyed series (and I only have two eyes). Jeez, I can probably even find you an illustrator and a publisher who’d be keen.
