The Trip: Part Three
The flight was seamless. I had great kimchi, I spoke Korean with the stewardess and saw the movie “Yes, Man!” on the plane. If you haven’t seen it, you should. It’s essentially just “Liar Liar” but instead of lying he can’t say no. So I decided to take that philosophy onto my trip. . . . I don’t regret it. Actually there is one part where Jim Carey is learning Korean and hearing him talk in the movie was hysterical. First off, he speaks it very well. His grammar is flawless and he’s got some natural sayings that I’m sure he was fed . . . but! . . . he had the most atrocious foreigner accent I’ve ever heard. It’s terrible! Oh my goodness, in the movie when he was speaking Korean i just cracked up because of his accent. I was laughing so hard the people next to me were looking at me funny. Some of the other Koreans were laughing at his accent too, but I nearly went into a state of hysterics.
