not adolescent, no, preschooler. :) a couple of wordy places “passing over the floor in which she was grounded to” do you need ‘in which’? and “heard the rings of pitter-patters which provoked her to jolt forward then back as she tried to” :heard pitter patters ring out making her jolt forward and back?? I hate the word resided, just my pet peeve. A thrilling nightmare in any case, full of questions and cold foggy mystery. :)
Very intense and exciting, and I think Elsha beat me to the editing nit-picking (which I agree with). ‘Pointed ears’ made for an interesting hint at character and even a bit on setting.
