I like this. Gives me a “Are you there God, it’s me, Margert” vibe. That whole awkward adolescene thing. My favorite thing about this piece is your use of laden. Love that word! :)

i read “Are You There God It’s Me Margaret” so long ago! Yeah, I guess it is very much like that.. but it’s also how I felt, too. :)

The last line made me laugh, if only for the use of the word “boob.”

lol that’s how I felt when I started wearing training bras too. I love the lines with the “rocket cones” and how the mother suggests “some sensible cotton white” ones lol

Very cute. One thing though: make sure there aren’t spaces at the beginning of your lines, they can cause spacing between your paragraphs to vanish.

Hilarious, classic, and utterly personal. I loved the line about needing to be ‘bridled and broken’. We men do have it easy in a lot of ways.

I climbed into one, knowing I couldn’t escape this rite of passage. The lace itched, the hooks were impossible, and it was tight around me.
I loved the way you went from the flowing sentences to the sticatto it made me feel your delemna, wait i didnt mean actually FEEL delemna, hehehehe

This has to be the perfect story (and congrats on being featured)…it’s a great coming of age story that girls can relate too, yet at the same time it’s a story that guys like (if only for the reason it’s indirectly about boobs). And it is some great writing. I loved the “bridled and broken” part.

Hahaha this piece is just perfect.
Its something every girl goes through at one time or another. I remember my first trip. God, it was mortifying. My mom made me try on atleast 10 A cup bras before finally deciding that no, they didnt fit.

I especially love the way you described them as “Padded rocket cones” by the way. :)
