Halle-frickin'-luia!
Joe scanned his Horizon Wireless ID and walked through the double doors, before scanning his badge again and walking through another set of doors. He slowly walked toward his cubicle and prepared himself for another dose of call center life.
A forty-ish Italian woman with a mullet waved hello.
“Hello, Dawn. Steady flow today?”
“You better believe it.” Dawn said rather loudly, muting her headset. “This asshole thinks I’m gonna give him a new phone when he flushed it in the toilet. I didn’t flush his damn phone in the toilet. C’mon.”
“Dawn!” Valerie, the supervisor yelled. “They could hear you on the other side of the call center!”
“You’re louder than I am.”
“Just keep it down!”
Joe checked his schedule. Halle-frickin’-luia! His day started out with training, which meant he would get to share air with Julie.
“Hey wait for me,” Dawn said. “I have the same training.”
Feeling like the luckiest man on the earth, Joe sat down next to Julie. The only problem was she didn’t know he existed.
