It floated in the sickly pale yellow fluid, pulsating slightly from the electrons rushing through it every half-second. Two wires, one red, one blue, were attached to either side, connecting it to a series of databases. The color of the fluids reflected on to the metal table from the large jar it was contained in.

“Well, we’ve finally done it!”

“And it only took us five years!”

The two turned towards each other, faces completely emotionless but eyes glistening with some insane happiness. Suddenly, one turned to look at his feet.

“And what do we do with the organic waste? We can’t just leave it here…”

“No… Perhaps we ought to throw it into the river, like we saw in the movie cinema.”

“Good idea!”

The two left with the human body between them, leaving the brain in the jar to finish downloading itself to the database.

In just a few minutes, they would have enough information to begin.
