Your tag was right on, it is a sad sad story. The repetition worked for me, and the phrase “pocket money” stands out. My grandmother (who is Chinese) still gives me ‘pocket money’ or ‘spending money’. The only sentence that didn’t work for me was the second one. I don’t know if it is the cadence, or the word ‘hurling’… Still, your work is always appreciated and I look forward to whatever you bring next.
