This was fun to try and crack. I learned about vigenere too. Who’d a thunk I’d learn about cryptic codes today.

Eventually, after much fussing with the alphabet, I broke down and cheated.

And I still don’t know if I got it all quite right… that’s pretty low— to unsuccessfully cheat. Jeesh. I feel like I need to help an old person cross the street now to make up for my profane failure.

I researched the encryption method and took a stab at decrypting this. While the initial results were promising, the latter portions of the poem became harder to understand, as though letters were misplaced or missing. It’s likely an error on my part, but I discerned a specificity to the piece that I like.

Looking at it in an “incomplete” state only adds to the mystery. I keep wondering what methods might reveal its secret. I think you’ve accomplished far more than you realized. This is amazing.
