You have arrived at the entrance to the Crystal Cavern. The village you stayed at the night before is 2 kilometers east. You have battery operated flashlights, hand-cranked flashlights, waterproof gear and backpack, helmet, heavy boots, 500 feet of strong, natural fiber rope with little stretch, climbing harness and caribeeners and pulleys, but no piton gun. You don’t want to harm the crystals, naturally! You have rations for 3 days, and water for 5 days, although you can’t carry it all. The villagers that guided you here say they will not go into the cave with you.
