48 Laws of Power: 1st Law
I’ve just started listening to my first audiobook, The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. I am not by nature a power-seeker but I find myself enjoying the Machiavellian nature of this book. Without further ado:
Law 1: Never Outshine the Master
Always make those above you feel comfortably superior. In your desire to please or impress them, do not go too far in displaying your talents or you might accomplish the opposite – inspire fear and insecurity. Make your masters appear more brilliant than they are and you will attain the heights of power.
This challenge is to write a story regarding either the observance or the transgression of this law.
