Ficly

Voice

A great deal can be learned about someone through their voice. The words they speak, the way in which they are spoken, and even the emphasis on a particular word can tell volumes about the speaker.

My challenge to you: Write a story in which the characters are not described physically. Give them substance through the words they say. Bring your characters to life through dialogue, monologue, inner voice — anything which isn’t told about them. For example, don’t tell me someone is a hippie, don’t describe their hemp shirt and dreadlocks, instead let the words they say show the reader that he is a hippie.

-Only one entry per person
-No more than 1024 characters (i.e. no sequels)
-Spelling and punctuation will be taken into account

You have two weeks, Ficliteers. Bring someone to life.
