“…car’s on fire and there’s no driver at the wheel and the sewers are muddied with a thousand lonely suici—”
“FUCK THAT GUY! I don’t need him! Who does he think he i—”
“What’s that guy doing just standing there?”
“What’s this bastard doing? Get out of the fuc—”
A hard shoulder bashed into my right arm, knocking me out of my trance.
The rain and the chatter and the thumping footsteps and the ringing clock sounds all come into startling fruition.
It’s so startling that it makes me jump in shock.
My heart beats a thousand miles a second.
Then I mutter to myself:
“What the hell just happened?!”
Composing myself, I take a few deep breaths, then continue on my way home.
Home.
The only place I’ll find for some time to think…
