Not sure if this is justification for her action or a lampoon of where our judicial system has gotten too. Either way it’s irksome, not because of your writing but because of the reality behind it.
It’s an angry story. My experience of the US justice system is pretty much Boston Legal. I’d like to think that if someone took photographs of a vulnerable person and posted them online, they’d be sued for everything they had, and rightly.
There’s is a law against incitement to commit a crime. While I understand that free speech is incredibly important, many groups incite their members to commit crimes under the excuse of free speech.
Religious communities are guilty of this in a great many cases. My reading of this storyline is that it’s the members of St. Isodore’s church that are taking the photographs. The nun outside the medical centre should be speaking out against the bullying, rather than emotionally blackmailing a vulnerable girl. That’s why I found her, and the church, guilty.
I’ve taken a female friend for an abortion, it wasn’t an easy decision for her. So I know that people who abuse women who have had to make that decision are amongst the worst people in the world.
