One Question (9)

What did he just say?

My thoughts ran wild, in an instant all my emotions returned. My logical confidence did battle with them. Milliseconds later, the battle was over. I felt no need to speak, yet.

The central figure remained standing and continued, “You have been chosen from your race of humans for the express purpose of representing them in our court.” He did not move as he spoke.

They have done this before.

“We perform this role in the natural order of the universe as a part of a complex association of sentient beings. We are a race who fills this purpose because our intelligence is formulated around assessment, contemplation of facts and decisiveness. All sentient races in the universe must fall in place in The Grand Order.” As he lectured me the crowd remained still and made not a sound. There had to be hundreds of them behind me.

Get on with it. Ask the question which holds the fate of the human race in its answer.

“Your answer to our question will form our judgment of humanity.”
