AAAARRRRRRRGH
“Hey, what the hell, buddy?” the driver yelled out the window. “We got places to go to, ya know!”
But the other car didn’t stop, didn’t slow down, just drove across the intersection, cutting off lanes of traffic and several people. His speed increased, his engine revving in time with his frantic heartbeat.
“Are you okay, honey?” Dave whispered into the back seat.
“AAAARRRRRRRGH,” was the reply. He pushed his foot a little lower to the floor. It wasn’t rush hour, it was the afternoon… but the last time he had checked, cars were still solid, so he had to squeeze between every single one that showed up.
A wail from the backseat. It sounded like it was time…
… well, this was curious. Dave must have been hearing things. Two voices? he wondered to himself. That can’t be right.
But as he approached the final intersection, he turned his head… and there were two baby boys in his wife’s arms, both small and chubby. Cute.
He smiled as he pulled into the parking lot. He was the only one doing so.
