Bit hard to follow thanks to a few little grammar things and some over-wrought sentences. Lots of character thrown in though, which is good. And I’m always a sucker for a Southern setting.

i read these backwards, so this prequel seems to not tie into the second except for the watcher.. but i bet with a third, it will all make more sense.. (keep writing) :)
oh and at first i thought the case really was bloody..
