I’ve always thought that was one fairy tale with a rather ambiguous moral to it. Stealing is okay if the person is somehow different from you? Bad business will work out in the end if you just keep going where you’re not welcome? Murder is justified after you’ve provoked someone to violence?

fairy tales are like Aseops fables with a good moral ending. Hansel and Gretel had abandonment issues, Repunzel was punished because her parents stole from a witch, and don’t get me started on the sluttly little old woman that lived in a shoe that feed then beat her children.

I meant to say fairy tales are not like Aesop fables.

THX is right, Jack’s fairy tale never made sense to me morally either. You can become rich if you are dumb but only if you steal, lie and murder in the process. Could this be the moral?
