I don’t plan to go back and read the parent stories of this one. This one is good all by itself.

This is awesome…thumbs are really all we got, no claws, mediocre teeth, zero useful instinct(the only instinct we possess is to nurse or suck, pretty telling) Love that Hellcat!!!

Hilarious title and then a fun/silly/bizarre story. Tried to find something to critique/improve and stuff but couldn’t see anything readily. I mean, it’s obviously not ‘high art’ or anything, but it’s intended as silly so it all works. Will try to be more harsh on future comments :-D

I think THX means to say it isn’t really “saying” anything other than whats on the page.

I’d like to have seen the attitudes of the children contrasted with that of the hellcats more interestingly.

It’s not boring though, and it’s easy to read.

Yeah no hidden meanings or life lessons, it is a light-hearted piece. I just had to mix the thumb war with the hellcat. :) wasn’t concerned about the children’s character development. :)

It could easily be your fault that I’m not going to win this challenge. I say that in the nicest possible way, of course, but as soon as I first read this I knew I was doomed.

Your solution involved a lot more lateral thinking than mine, in the way that you linked the two stories. You also created something truly original out of both stories, whereas I sort of paraphrased one of them and only used the other to give it a new context.

yeah that, and it spawned a thumb war movement.. you have a way of explaining what I did so that I can understand it.. hee hee, I just wrote! but it’s not entirely your fault, i mean we picked random numbered stories, it could have been a LOT harder.

Just happened across this story again while reviewing the challenge. (I never DID pick a winner.)

But I just noticed something: apparently the person worried about fighting in the thumb war changed midway from Jake to Billy. Hmm.

ha! oh well, I guess we could try to change it..
